Moorestown offers several excellent places to walk and exercise your dog:
Strawbridge Lake
The most popular walking destination in town. The paved loop around the lake is perfect for leashed walks with scenic water views. Benches, shade trees, and well-maintained paths make it a favorite for morning and evening walks.
Wesley Bishop Park
This large community park has walking paths, open fields, and plenty of space for leashed walks. The sports fields and playground make it a lively spot for family outings with your dog.

Moorestown's tree-lined residential streets with sidewalks are ideal for daily walks. The historic downtown area is particularly pleasant for strolling with your dog, and many neighborhoods connect to walking paths that lead to parks and open spaces.
Note: Moorestown does not currently have an off-leash dog park, but several nearby communities offer fenced dog parks. Dogs must be leashed in all Moorestown public parks per township ordinance.
Licensing
Dog License & Regulations
Dog Licensing: New Jersey state law requires all dogs to be licensed. In Moorestown, dog licenses are issued by the Township Clerk's office at Town Hall. You will need proof of current rabies vaccination. The fee is approximately $10 for spayed/neutered dogs and $15 for unaltered dogs. Licenses are valid for one year (January through December) and must be renewed annually.
Leash Laws: Moorestown township ordinance requires dogs to be on a leash when off the owner's property. Leashes must be no longer than six feet. This rule applies in all public parks, streets, and common areas.
Waste Disposal: Pet owners are required to clean up after their dogs and dispose of waste properly. Failure to do so can result in fines. Dog waste stations with bags are available at some parks and popular walking routes.
Vaccination: All dogs must be current on rabies vaccination by law. It is also strongly recommended to keep your pet up to date on other core vaccines (distemper, parvo, bordetella) and heartworm prevention.
